During his relief operations, he was able to reach thousands of Filipinos and provide them with basic needs such as rice, canned goods, water and noodles.
“All week while the rain was pouring, we continuously helped and served all those that were severely affected, hailing from Metro Manila cities such as Manila, Las Piñas and Marikina all the way to nearby provinces such as Rizal, Bulacan and Laguna. We are also thankful to the Department of Social Welfare and Development that was our partner in handing out assistance,” Villar continued in his mother tongue.
The senator deemed that, in times of need and natural disasters, public servants were called to show up and help all their fellow Filipinos that were in need of assistance. He underscored that as a policymaker, he would ensure that he crafted legislation that would address the intensity and level of flooding experienced in Metro Manila and in some provinces of Luzon.
“As a public servant, we and our office are very ready to offer relief and assistance to all those in need. The public can also rely on us in the 20th Congress to create laws and actions that would solve the problem of flooding,” Villar concluded in the vernacular.
