MANILA, Philippines — Actress Matet de Leon tried to clear the air on issues swirling around the inheritance of her mother, the late National Artist Nora Aunor.

Matet appeared on the May 7, 2026 episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" where the host mostly circled the conversations around the actress fondly known as Ate Guy.

Nora's first death anniversary was celebrated last April 16 by a tribute event in the Libingan ng mga Bayani — where the actress' remains are — organized by Ian de Leon, Nora's only biological son whom she had with ex-husband Christopher de Leon.

Boy noted that Matet and her other siblings adopted by Nora and Christopher — Lotlot, Kiko and Kenneth — instead attended a mass elsewhere, though Matet did say Kiko had also attended the other event.

Matet explained that she, Lotlot and Kenneth opted for an intimate commemoration because what the family went through last year was "very, very painful," even admitting to drinking before facing Ate Guy's fans when Nora had died.

According to Matet, she and Lolot did not receive an invitation to Ian's event until a week before, however, the two actresses declined as they still weren't prepared to face fans.

She also clarified that her viral "walang mana" post of her, Lotlot, Kiko, and Kenneth was not a dig at Ian but at detractors and bashers claiming the four have no right to be called Nora's heirs.

"Kumulo ako, as if we're not thankful? We're grateful for her. I'm here talking with you because of my mom. I am Matet because of my mother," Matet pointed out, quipping that her family was "mayaman sa bastusan."

Matet choked back tears, asking the public to respect her family, who were still mourning Nora, and her inheritance was nowhere near the top of their minds.

The actress also made it clear that the four of them do not have an argument with Ian but rather a misunderstanding, also confirming that Ian was indeed Nora's sole legal heir and executor of her estate.

She echoed what Lotlot had previously shared that they were not involved in the establishment of a One Person Corporation for a foundation and enterprise dedicated to their mother, though she assumed Kiko and Kenneth may have had some idea.

Matet said she and Ian have not spoken in person since their mother passed away but could not recall what their last conversation was about nor how their misunderstanding can be resolved.

"Magagalit po [si mama]," Matet told Boy after being asked how Nora would feel, comparing to how she'd feel about feuds within her side of the family. "Naiintindihan ko na ngayon, ngayon na nanay ako. Ayaw [ni mama] ng ganito."

The actress ended confirming that Nora indeed left numerous properties in her name as invested by the late Superstar and her mother Antonia, however Matet does not know — nor does she want to — if Nora left a Last Will and Testament. — Video from GMA Network's YouTube channel
