MANILA, Philippines — Several barangays in Sampaloc, Manila have endured a 30-hour water service interruption after a pipe burst on Tuesday.
Some sections of a previously repaired pipe were misaligned, causing strong water pressure in the supply line, the Manila Public Information Office said.
Maynilad Water Services Inc. has dispatched personnel to repair the damaged pipe and restore water services.
“Around 400 customer accounts remain affected as localized repair works in the area are being completed,” Maynilad said.
Water tankers were deployed to supply water to affected barangays.
