Model Kim Jong-suk passed away earlier this week, on June 4 KST. A funeral service was held on June 6 at a funeral home in Hannam-si, Gyeonggi Province. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
On June 6, Kim Jong-suk's older sister took to social media to share a heartfelt plea, “We are in the middle of funeral preparations, overwhelmed and heartbroken. But I'm seeing so many baseless and false claims spreading across online communities.”
She continued, “At first, we chose not to respond, hoping Jong Suk could rest in peace. But now, it has gone too far.” She revealed plans to file a report with the cyber investigation unit against defamatory posts and misinformation, adding that some media reports also contained false information. “I've requested the removal of these articles. We will soon release a summary of the police recording and a statement from the friend who was with him at the time,” she stated, as shared by AllKpop.
Kim Kong-suk family has decided to gather evidence and pursue legal action that reflects a strong stand against harmful rumors and speculation.
Kim Jong-suk began his career in 2014 as a model for an online shopping mall and steadily rose to popularity through social media. He went on to model for various men's beauty brands and had recently begun exploring acting, broadening his footprint in the entertainment industry.
In 2022, he appeared on the tvN dating reality program Skip Dating, hosted by Yoo Jae Suk, Jeon So Min, and Nuksal. News of his sudden passing has left fans shocked and heartbroken.
His funeral took place on the morning of June 6, with burial at Yanggu Memorial Park following services held at the Chuncheon Rest Center.
