MANILA, Philippines — The foreign minister of Mongolia arrives in Manila today for a two-day official visit, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
Battsetseg Batmunkh is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on President Marcos and Senate President Francis Escudero.
During the visit, she and Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo will hold a bilateral meeting to review the state of Philippines-Mongolia relations and to chart ways of enhancing further the two countries’ diplomatic relationship, now entering its 60th year.
“Beyond bilateral relations, Secretary Manalo and Foreign Minister Battsetseg will also discuss strategic issues of mutual concern,” the DFA said.
Her trip marks the first official visit by a Mongolian foreign minister to the Philippines since 1984.
The visit is a reciprocation of Manalo’s trip to Ulaanbaatar in August 2024, which marked the first official visit by a Philippine foreign affairs chief to Mongolia.
