CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Motorcycle driver Andy and backrider Kim both wanted to evade a police checkpoint along McArthur Highway in Meycauayan City on Sunday.
But, by executing a quick U-turn, they instead rammed a parked truck – a crash strong enough to break open the motorcycle’s top box and expose several plastic sachets of shabu worth P340,000.
In a report to Central Luzon police chief Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, investigators said Andy and Kim were driving from Caloocan City when they spotted the police checkpoint in Barangay Saluysoy.
To avoid a search, Andy rushed to turn around, but ended up hitting the truck. The two were injured and rushed to Ace Hospital in Valenzuela City for treatment.
The motorcycle and 50 grams of shabu were placed under police custody.
