THE National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is set to recognize artists all over the country through the 17th Ani ng Dangal (Harvest of Honors), an award given to outstanding Filipino talents who excelled and have earned the highest award in various international competitions.
The Ani ng Dangal honorees are recognized in five categories of the arts: seven for architecture and allied arts, eight for cinema, six for dance, 15 for music and three for visual arts.
The 39 awardees are going to be recognized in a special ceremony at the Metropolitan Theater at 2 p.m. on March 5.
The trophy, featuring a stylized sarimanok, is sculpted by National Artist Abdulmari Asia Imao.
