MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCPO) seized more than P4 million worth of drugs between Holy Wednesday and early Maundy Thursday.

In a statement on Thursday, April 2, the NCRPO said it arrested 72 individuals and seized 584.95 grams of shabu and 17.56 grams of kush from 6 a.m. on April 1 to 5:59 a.m. on April 2, 2026

The NCRPO said the narcotics seized have a combined estimated value of P4,004,000.

Makati Police conducted one of the operations that led to the arrest of two "high-value individuals" in possession of approximately 500 grams of shabu.

The seizure is valued at an estimated P3.4 million.

NCPO Regional Director Anthony Aberin lauded the seizure, saying that it will make communities safer.

"This successful operation highlights the strength of our intelligence-driven approach. Under the leadership of PGEN Nartatez, NCRPO will continue to hit the heart of the illegal drug trade, taking down drug pushers before they can harm our communities. We are unwavering in our efforts to ensure a safer, drug-free Metro Manila," Aberin said in a statement.

The 72 arrested individuals await formal charges, according to the NCRPO.
