DAVAO CITY – Netizens expressed relief and joy for Vice President Sara Duterte following the High Court’s decision declaring the Articles of Impeachment as unconstitutional.

“The Supreme Court’s decision reflects justice. There was fair treatment, and the people should respect the High Court’s decision because they know what they’re doing,” Marian Castro, 38, a government employee and resident of Iloilo City, said.

“I am happy to hear that the Supreme Court finally took action. I thought they were sleeping and ignoring anything related to Duterte,” said Angelli Bangot, 30, a virtual assistant and resident here.

Quinn Florence Astillo, 36, a freelance digital artist and resident of Davao City, said he believes the High Court made the right decision. He added that other people’s issues with the Vice President are political compared to the bigger problems in the country.

“That’s good news. Let us respect the higher court’s decision and focus on the pressing concerns of our country — that’s what the people need today,” 55-year-old Rolly Gablin, a laborer, resident of Manila, said.

Duterte supporters expressed their support online by sharing the decision on social media. Others aired their disappointment over the ruling online.
