THE National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) will lead the 2025 History Month celebration this August with the theme “Diwa ng Kasaysayan, Kabilin sa Kabataan (Spirit of History, Heritage for the Youth).”

Kicking off the month is History to Experience (HistoEx) on Aug. 1, 2025, at Quantum Skyview, Gateway 2, Cubao, Quezon City. The festive expo, featuring booths, games, and fun activities, runs until Aug. 3. The 127th anniversary of the Bacoor Assembly in Cavite and the 81st death anniversary of Manuel L. Quezon in Quezon City will also be commemorated on opening day.
Major activities include the GSIS Historians Fair, Oriang@150 Women Talks, the General Assembly of the Local Historical Committees Network, and the National Conference on Local History and Heritage. Workshops like Manalaysay in Cotabato City, skilLokal Luzon in Makati, and Conservation Goes to the Province in Misamis Oriental are also planned. NHCP museums nationwide will host lectures, exhibits, and workshops.
Commemorations will be held for National Heroes Day, the Battle of San Juan del Monte, and birth or death anniversaries of Manuel Quezon, Marcelo del Pilar, Ramon Magsaysay, Jesse Robredo, and Ninoy Aquino.
History Month was declared via Proclamation 339 by President Benigno Aquino III in 2012. LGUs and civic groups are encouraged to hold meaningful observances.
