MANILA, Philippines — “Surprised, excited, and fulfilled.” These were the words of newly crowned Miss Worldwide Philippines 2026 Nicole Borromeo.

Miss Worldwide Philippines is one of the four new crowns introduced by The Miss Philippines this year.

Borromeo, a Cebuana beauty, believes her prior experience competing abroad will give her an edge in the pageant’s inaugural edition. She previously represented the country in Japan at the Miss International 2023 competition where she finished as third runner-up.

The Japan competition gained her deeper appreciation for culture and the arts — insights she hopes to bring to the new pageant that brings performing arts as important factor of the competition.

Speaking to Philstar.com on the sidelines of the staging of "Jesus Christ Superstar" at The Theatre at Solaire, she noted that the pageant aims to offer a fresh take on traditional competitions.

Borromeo also shared that her new crown resonates with her personal passions, especially after releasing two singles, highlighting her love for music and performance. 

She hinted at upcoming music-related projects as she prepares for the Miss Worldwide Philippines set for early 2027.
