MANILA, Philippines — Over 1.35 million passengers are expected at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport during Holy Week, according to the New NAIA Infra Corp.

From March 28 to April 5, the NNIC projects the number of passengers to be slightly higher than last year’s 1.32 million.

Most of yesterday’s departing travelers boarded Philippine Airlines flights to Hong Kong, Nagoya and Narita in Japan, Xiamen in China and Muscat in Oman, among others.

NAIA Terminal 3 is projected to handle the largest share of traffic at 712,932 passengers, followed by Terminal 2 with 346,342 and Terminal 1 with 293,990.

Flight suspensions and operating restrictions affecting some Middle East services are influencing passenger demand, the NNIC said.

Measures are in place to manage the holiday rush, such as the deployment of more personnel, coordination with airlines and ground handlers, extended hours for passenger assistance desks and real-time monitoring of terminal congestion, the NNIC added.

Travelers are advised to check flight advisories and arrive at the airport early.

International passengers should complete their eTravel registration before proceeding to the airport, the NNIC said.
