MANILA, Philippines — Actor-host Elijah Canlas is imploring young Filipinos of legal age to exercise their right to vote, turning away from apoliticism.
The "Y Speak" host posted on social media platform X last May 17, Sunday, encouraging fellow Filipinos to become registered voters.
"Being apolitical is not the flex you think it is. That’s why I urge everyone — especially the youth to REGISTER TO VOTE," Elijah said. "Makapangyarihan ang bawat isa. Maliban sa pagiging karapatan, ito rin ay ating responsibilidad."

Hanggang May 18 nalang! Para sa pagbabagong ating hangad.
Elijah ended his post reminding the public that May 18, Monday, was the last day of voter registration ahead of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections later this year and the 2028 national elections.
"Hanggang May 18 nalang! Para sa pagbabagong ating hangad," said the actor.
The 25-year-old Elijah has frequently spoken up on social issues in the country, participating in rallies and calling for accountability for those involved in flood control project scandals.
