Ombudsman seeks to bar Romualdez from leaving PH over plunder complaint

MANILA, Philippines — A petition for precautionary hold departure order (PHDO) was filed by the Office of the Ombudsman on Tuesday before the Sandiganbayan against Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez over plunder complaints lodged by prosecutors who accused him of allegedly “masterminding” a kickback scheme amounting to P56 billion. After the PHDO was sought, Romualdez broke his
