Katseye is on the cover of Teen Vogue, and Filipino member Sophia Laforteza just repped us hard.

"I want to be somebody who will never hide the fact that I'm Filipino," the 22-year-old told Teen Vogue, adding she wants t one "loud about it."

"It means a lot when somebody embraces their culture, especially their Philippine culture and heritage."

She gave nods to Fil-am performers Vanessa Hudgens, Nicole Scherzinger, and Olivia Rodrigo as her influences, but none more than her mom, the theater actress Carla Guevara-Laforteza, who would take Sophia along during rehearsals.

"I would just sit there and observe. She trained me to a visual learner," the Katseye member said of her mom.

The magazine put the spotlight on each of the six members of Katseye, who are all winners of the survival show, “The Debut: Dream Academy." The girl group is now managed by HYBE Labels and Geffen Records, who is about to drop an EP "Beautiful Chaos" in June.

Katseye was in the Philippines last September, where they performed on "It's Showtime," met fans at a showcase, and held a media conference.

At the sidelines of the event, Carla said she never expected all this for Sophia. "For Sophia to be a superstar is more than — naiiyak ako! Nakakaiyak tsaka nakaka-proud talaga kasi she did it all on her own. Hindi nga nagpaalam," the theater actress said.
