BACOLOD CITY — One died and seven others were injured when a Toyota Avanza fell into a ravine in Purok Tuburan, Barangay Pandanon, Don Salvador Benedicto (DSB) on Saturday, March 29.

Maj. Ryan Villasario, chief of the DSB Police Station, said that four of the passengers were policemen assigned at the Bacolod City Police Station (BCPO) with ranks of corporal to patrolman, two were civilians and two minors.

The lone fatality was identified as Daisy De Los Santos, 29, while the injured were April Rose Megel, 24, and two minors.

The four others who were also injured were Cpl. Patrick Panganiban, Cpl. Jane Claire Batadhay, Cpl. Hazel Motin and Pat. Calveen Corral.

The Avanza was travelling from Bacolod City to San Carlos City. Upon reaching a mountain curve, the vehicle overshot the road and fell into a ravine estimated to be about 50 meters deep.

The injured were immediately rushed to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center where De Los Santos was declared dead on arrival.
