Over 1,000 evacuated in Negros as Basyang sparks Kanlaon lahar threat

BACOLOD CITY—Over 1,000 residents were preemptively evacuated in Negros Occidental on Friday morning as more than 1,000 sea travelers were stranded in various ports due to continuous rains brought by Tropical Depression Basyang, provincial authorities said. The number of evacuees is expected to rise as rainfall persists across the province. According to the Provincial Disaster
