MANILA, Philippines — Marijuana plants valued at P1.2 million were destroyed during a raid on a plantation in Tinglayan, Kalinga on Friday morning.
Members of the Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) said the raid on a 500-square-meter plantation in Barangay Loccong resulted in the destruction of up to 6,000 full-grown marijuana plants.
No one was arrested during the raid, according to PDEG chief Brig. Gen. Elmer Ragay.
On the same day, anti-narcotics agents seized 400 grams of marijuana worth P600,000 in a sting in Taytay, Rizal.
The contraband was recovered from three people who were arrested by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangay San Isidro.
The suspects, identified only as Gabriel, Rionna Marie and Ayaboy, were collared after they sold an undetermined amount of marijuana to undercover PDEA agents.
