AUTHORITIES discovered more or less 155 kilograms (kg) of shabu worth more than P1 billion during the implementation of a search warrant in a house inside a subdivision in Angeles City on Monday afternoon.

However, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents and police personnel from the Angeles City Police Station (CPS) that implemented the search missed the alleged occupant of the house at Blk 7, Lot 5A, Orchid Street in Timog Hills Subdivision in Barangay Pampang, Angeles City.

Armed with a search warrant, the PDEA operatives, led by PDEA Intelligence Service agent Bayani Alpon, and Angeles City CPS under chief Police Maj. Rodolfo Quiroz, were able to enter the said house allegedly rented by one alias "Guang Tou," a Chinese, who was their target in the raid.

The Chinese remains at large, and PDEA said the house appears to have been "abandoned," and that the huge bulk of illegal drugs placed inside plastic bags were also left behind.

The estimated value of the abandoned 155 kg of shabu was P1,020,000,000.

According to PDEA, the drug discovery is related to the May 14 drug operation in the same city where more than 35 kilos of shabu were recovered from the arrested Chinese and his Filipino companion.

Davao police arrest 83 pushers in weeklong ops

The Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 (Davao Region) confiscated illegal drugs valued at more than P2.1 million during a series of operations conducted from May 19 to 25, a top official said Tuesday.

Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete, PRO-11 director, reported that 69 coordinated anti-illegal drug operations led to the arrest of 83 individuals, including 16 high-value targets and 67 street-level individuals.

Authorities also seized 12,428.6 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P2.1 million, along with 64.7 grams of dried marijuana valued at P7,773.

"PRO-11 has once again demonstrated its firm commitment to the national campaign against illegal drugs," said Rosete in a statement.

"This campaign aligns directly with the directives of PNP chief, Police Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil and the policies of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the pursuit of a safer, drug-free Philippines," added Rosete.

The anti-illegal drug campaign, he said, is "not just about statistics."

"They represent lives saved, communities protected and criminal networks effectively disrupted," he said.
