ILOILO CITY — Authorities confiscated approximately 350 grams of suspected shabu, estimated to be worth P2.38 million, in a buy-bust in Barangay Balantang, Jaro District on Wednesday afternoon.
The operation, led by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), also resulted in the apprehension of two high-value individuals.
The police identified the suspects as alias Hazel, a 36-year-old resident of the area, and alias Jose, a 41-year-old minibus driver from Anilao, Iloilo.
The ICPO recovered one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu and the P5,500 buy-bust money during the operation.
They also seized 25 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and four knot-tied transparent plastic bags, all containing suspected shabu from the suspects.

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas said that the successful operation shows that the city government and law enforcement agencies remain steadfast in its mission to protect every Ilonggo family and uphold the law.
"This operation sends a clear message — our city will never again tolerate illegal drug activities," he said.
The suspects are currently in police custody and will face charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
