MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents uprooted marijuana plants valued at P46.8 million in Sugpon, Ilocos Sur over the weekend.
The raid on a plantation in Barangay Licungan was carried out by members of the police Regional Mobile Force Battalion 1 and agents of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency as well as the municipal police.
The raiding team said that up to 156,920 fully grown marijuana plants, 93,680 seedlings and 96 kilos of dried marijuana leaves were found at the 32,000-square-meter plantation.
After taking samples for laboratory examination, all marijuana plants, seedlings and leaves were destroyed at the site, the raiding team said.
