MANILA, Philippines — A box containing suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P5.4 million was found on the roof of a house in General Trias City, Cavite on Tuesday morning.
The owner of the house located in Barangay Kawayan II told probers that she and her children were having dinner on Monday when they heard a thud on the roof.
She said she went upstairs, looked out the window and saw a woman on the roof, hiding between the bathroom and the firewall.
She said the woman asked for assistance and she allowed her to enter the house through the window. The woman rushed downstairs and exited through the front door.
The house owner said that the following day, she remembered seeing a box on the roof, prompting her to check it. She said she found inside the box eight packs of white powder, prompting her to seek the help of barangay officials, who contacted the police.
Responding police officers found the box containing 799.93 grams of white substance, and turned these over to the forensics unit for examination.
Probers have yet to obtain leads on the identity of the woman, who is believed to have left the box on the roof.
Police expressed belief that the suspected illegal substance was connected to a sting conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the same barangay on Monday, which resulted in the arrest of two men.
A female companion of the suspects reportedly escaped and is believed to be the woman who hid on the roof.
