Laoag City, Dagupan City, Cuyo, Roxas City and Dumangas will experience a 44 degrees Celsius heat index, according to the state weather bureau’s bulletin.

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned that 25 areas across the country will experience dangerous heat index levels today, with temperatures reaching up to 44 degrees Celsius.
Laoag City, Dagupan City, Cuyo, Roxas City and Dumangas will experience a 44 degrees Celsius heat index, according to the state weather bureau’s bulletin.
A 43 degrees Celsius heat index will also be felt at MSU in Batac, Bacnotan, Aparri, Tuguegarao City, ISU Echague, CLSU in Muñoz, Cubi Point in Subic Bay, TAU Camaling, Sangley Point in Cavite City, San Jose and Iloilo City.
Meanwhile, the areas of Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay, Sinait, Iba, DMIA of Clark Airport, Infanta, Alabat, Mulanay, Guiuan and Butuan City will register an index of 42 degrees Celsius.
Under PAGASA’s classifications, a dangerous heat index category ranges from 42 degrees Celsius to 51 degrees Celsius, with prolonged exposure leading to heat cramps and heat exhaustion.
