Panelo warns lowering impeachment threshold could invite gov’t pressure

MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte’s newly-appointed spokesperson Salvador Paolo Panelo Jr. on Wednesday warned that lowering the 16-vote threshold for conviction could allow the sitting government to manipulate the outcome of her impeachment trial. In an ambush interview on Wednesday, Panelo said, “Maaaring kapag ang denominator, itong 16, ay pwedeng babaan, iniimbitahan mo
