THE Philippine Association of Social Workers Inc. (Paswi), the accredited and integrated professional organization for social workers in the Philippines, and its National Capital Region (NCR) Cluster, representing local chapters across Metro Manila, announce their participation in the global celebration of World Social Work Day at the Doña Librada Avelino Auditorium of Centro Escolar University, Mendiola, Manila, on March 22, 2025.

World Social Work Day is recognized globally on the third Tuesday of March and aims to shine a light on the vital contributions of social work.

It seeks to enhance the visibility of social services essential for the future of societies and to advocate for social justice and human rights.

This year's theme, "Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity for Enduring Wellbeing," underscores the commitment of Paswi to addressing social issues affecting individuals' well-being, particularly the poor, marginalized and oppressed.

"We are excited to join our counterparts around the world in celebrating the achievements of social work. This year's theme is a call to action for all of us to foster connections across generations, ensuring that we build a future where everyone can thrive," Paswi National President Ma. Victoria Sta. Ana said.

The celebration is expected to draw between 500 and 800 social workers and social work students from various Paswi chapters across Metro Manila.

"Through events like World Social Work Day, we continue to promote and give importance to the crucial role social workers play in shaping a just and equitable society," Paswi NCR Cluster Coordinator and Pasay City Chapter President Potchoy Sahirul said.
