MANILA, Philippines–TNT bucked the absence of an import following Bol Bol’s injury to edge out Meralco, 77-75, for a 2-1 lead in their PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinal series on Sunday at Mall of Asia Arena.

RR Pogoy knocked down the go-ahead three to complete their comeback as the Tropang 5G prevailed despite not only missing Bol but also being forced to play all-Filipino with temporary replacement Malick Diouf failing to secure necessary documents in time for the contest.

Meralco had a chance to force overtime, but CJ Cansino and Javee Mocon missed point-blank attempts before time expired.

The Tropang 5G moved two wins shy of advancing to the Finals for the fifth straight conference, with former San Miguel Beer import Chris McCullough set to fill the shoes of Bol for Game 4.

Game 4 is set Wednesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
