THE Philippine Commission for Women (PCW) successfully launched the annual National Women's Month celebration at the Music Hall, SM Mall of Asia on March 5, 2025.

This year's theme, "Women in All Sectors, Empowering a New Era for Filipino Women," highlights the crucial role of women in advocating for a more inclusive and progressive nation.

Among the participants in this significant event were various organizations and government agencies, including the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP), which actively contributed to the program by showcasing its services and initiatives for impoverished women.

PCUP showed strong support for National Women's Month, led by Jesse Wilvic Jacildo, the National focal person for Gender and Development Focal Point System, along with representatives from the Office of the Chairman Amihan Adriano Karla Aurora Sapno Maryjoy Mae Padrones and Jomari Quilaton. Klarck Kent Constantino from the Field Operations Division for National Capital Region was also present.

On the day of the celebration, PCUP presented programs and services, aimed at raising public awareness of their advocacy for women in poverty. Many actively participated in its interactive mini game, where participants guessed the names of distinguished Filipino women who contributed to advancing rights and recognizing the capabilities of every Filipino.

Additionally, the program featured various discussions, designed to provide more knowledge and protection for women, including "Smart Budgeting for Every Juana" by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. and "Click Wisely, Juana! Stay Safe in the Digital World" by the Complaints and Investigation Division of the National Privacy Commission's Legal and Enforcement Office.

PCW Chairman Ermelita Valdeavilla also inaugurated the PCUP service booth, providing attendees an opportunity to learn about the Commission's various programs and services for impoverished women.
