Peso hits record low on political risks, strong dollar

MANILA, Philippines – The peso sank to a fresh record low on Thursday’s close, as political uncertainty compounded market jitters driven by fears of a prolonged Middle East conflict. The local currency weakened by 26 centavos to close at P61.64 per dollar, according to data from the Bankers Association of the Philippines. This surpasses its previous
