THE Philippines takes center stage in the global innovation ecosystem as it hosts the 1st International Conference and Exposition on Innovations (ICE on I), under the campaign banner Philippines’ International Exposition of Technologies or PHILIPPiNEXT.
Organized by the Department of Science and Technology-Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI) in collaboration with the Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT), the event will be held at Okada Manila, Parañaque City on July 14 to 17, 2025.
The expo is supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs with funding coming from the International Commitment Fund (ICF) of the Office of the President.
The event aims to bring together key stakeholders and experts from government, industry, academe and the global innovation community to identify best practices and strategies for commercializing intellectual property (IP) assets.

Sub-theme International Conference on the Commercialization of Intellectual Property Assets will also serve as a multi-sectoral platform to strengthen regional innovation systems and create cross-border partnerships, investments and policy alignments across the Asia-Pacific region.
Bridging Innovation and Commercialization on a Global Scale
DOST-TAPI is widely recognized as the Philippines’ lead agency for promoting and commercializing locally-made technologies in the country.
The institute continuously assists and supports Filipino innovators throughout their journey, from ideation to commercialization.
As the national focal point for APCTT since the 1990s, DOST-TAPI has actively collaborated on various capacity-building initiatives.
“This event is a call to action for the region to harness its intellectual property potential as a driver of inclusive and sustainable growth,” said lawyerMarion Ivy Decena, director of DOST-TAPI and vice chair of APCTT.
“We are honored to work with APCTT to bring this vision to life in the Philippines,” she added.

ICE on I aims to convene not only APCTT member states but also international experts and leaders from other countries to share best practices on IP exploitation, policy innovation and investment readiness.
ICE on I will feature conference sessions and panel discussions on IP and climate solutions, technology pitching, networking and the International Innovation Expo.
Participants will discover breakthrough technologies across sectors such as energy, environment, climate change and disaster risk resilience, digital and the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR); gain strategic insights from global innovation leaders; and forge cross-border partnerships that accelerate the commercialization of intellectual property.
PHILIPPiNEXT invites all international innovators, policymakers, researchers, startups, investors and media partners to be part of the country’s first-ever international conference and exposition of technologies.
As the global economy increasingly values intellectual capital, the Philippines stands ready to lead regional conversations on how IP assets can drive both economic and social impact.
DOST-TAPI aims at providing science-based, innovative and inclusive solutions across four strategic pillars: human well-being, wealth creation, wealth protection, and sustainability.
These pillars embody the mantra OneDOST4U: Solutions, Opportunities for All.
