MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. has paid more than half of the P8.8 billion hospital claims that were previously denied due to late filing, PhilHealth announced.
“As of June 2026, we have processed and paid around 666,000 claims or almost P4.5 billion in payment,” Dr. Israel Pargas, PhilHealth senior vice president for health finance policy sector, said.
The remaining 434,000 claims still have incomplete requirements and would need compliance by hospitals before compensation, he added.
More than a year ago, PhilHealth announced that it would start to process the reimbursement of 1.1 million hospital claims that were denied mainly due to late filing.
PhilHealth stressed the importance of prompt filing so as not to delay the appropriate compensation that providers should receive for services rendered.
