MANILA, Philippines — Senatorial candidate and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar has commended the government for implementing the Expanded Centenarians Act of 2024.

President Marcos earlier led the inaugural payout of cash gifts to qualified senior citizen beneficiaries amounting to P10,000.

Seniors will receive P10,000 every five years from age 80 until 95.

At the age of 100, they will receive P100,000.

Villar, part of the administration-backed senatorial slate, has vowed to push for measures to help seniors.

If the congresswoman wins in the May midterm polls, she will join her brother Mark in the Senate.

Sen. Cynthia Villar is hoping to replace Camille, her daughter, as representative of Las Piñas.

More than P1 billion in advertisements has reportedly been spent by Camille for her campaign.
