CAMP BGEN VICENTE LIM, Calamba City — The Police Regional Office in Calabarzon (PRO-4A) conducted a simultaneous cleanup drive to remove campaign materials in public places under its "Operation Baklas" on Tuesday.
PRO-4A director Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas led the cleanup operation that was also conducted by the various provincial, city and municipal police stations within their respective areas of responsibility.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has ordered all candidates, winners and losers, to remove their campaign materials from public spaces. However, not all candidates have complied with the Comelec order.
"Our conduct of Operation Baklas is not just about removing campaign materials," Lucas clarified.
"It is part of our broader mission to ensure our roads and surroundings are clean after the elections and also to carry out cleanup drives around the camp in preparation for the rainy season and potential flooding."
