PNP: January 2026 crime rate drops by 24.32%

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police on Monday said it logged a 24.32-percent crime rate decrease in January 2026. In a press briefing in Camp Crame, PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. reported that the national police force recorded 2,449 incidents of focus crimes between Jan. 1 and 31, 2026; down from 3,236
