BALANGA CITY — Col. Marites Salvadora, officer in charge of the Bataan Police Provincial Office, has conducted an inspection of Mount Samat in Pilar, Bataan to check on preparations for the 83rd Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) on April 9, 2025.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., foreign dignitaries, and World War II veterans are expected to attend the annual rites at the Dambana ng Kagitingan (Shrine of Valor) in Mount Samat.

Salvadora said the visit aimed to assess security preparations, deployment strategies, and logistical requirements to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the annual event, which honors the bravery and sacrifices of Filipino and American soldiers during World War II.

Joining Salvadora in the inspection were Lt. Col. Alfredo Solomon Jr., deputy provincial director for operations, and Maj. Dennis Duran, acting chief for operations, and other police officials.

Salvadora took over the command of the provincial office on Thursday.
