Meanwhile, the region's tracker teams also launched an aggressive campaign against fugitives, arresting 599 wanted persons during 582 manhunt operations in March.

Of those arrested, 102 were tagged as Most Wanted Persons (MWP) — including seven at the regional level, 14 at the provincial level, and 81 at the municipal level.

The remaining 497 suspects were classified as Other Wanted Persons (OWP).

NOCPPO again led the efforts, with 34 of the MWPs and 238 of the OWPs arrested — a total of 272 arrests, or 45.4 percent of all arrests made during the period.

The IPPO followed with 91 arrests, while the ICPO recorded 60.

Other contributors included the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group - Regional Field Unit 6 which arrested two individuals.

PRO-6 director BGen. Jack Wanky has urged his personnel for continued cooperation with communities and law enforcement partners to account for the remaining fugitives in Western Visayas.

"All the accused have been turned over to the courts concerned," Wanky said. "Our efforts will remain aggressive until all wanted persons are brought to justice."
