Microsoft and ASUS have reportedly been working together on Project Kennan. It’s an OEM-built (original equipment manufacturer) PC gaming handheld similar to the ASUS ROG Ally or Lenovo Legion Go.

This offering is set to arrive later this year, provided there’s no delays. This comes from news that Microsoft is working closely with OEMs on making Windows more friendly with dedicated PC gaming devices. Of course, a large amount of work has gone into the Xbox app (along with its services, Windows platform, and Xbox Game Bar) leading up to this.

Windows Central has put together answers to FAQs about the handheld. For starters, it will essentially feel a lot like the ASUS ROG Ally but with an Xbox-y twist. The handheld will blend ASUS’ design language with updated styling conventions and give it a look more typical to that of an Xbox.

This includes more prominent grips and a dedicated Xbox guide-style button. As of now though, it’s still unclear on whether Project Kennan will sit alongside the ROG Ally 2 as a separate unit. There’s an off chance it ends up being the mentioned unit itself subsidized by Xbox.

This is a developing story, so we’ll be updating readers as more details come to light.

As a homebody, he often spends his time on the streaming platform Twitch or ‘farming’ gaming clips with friends. He is also an avid fan of round glasses and anything relative to blueberries.
