MANILA, Philippines — Galeries Tower could finally find the missing piece to its rise after landing the first overall pick in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League Rookie Draft on June 3 at Novotel.

Alyssa Solomon is the consensus first pick in the draft. The former National University standout is fresh off a runner-up finish with Osaka Marvelous in the Japan SV.League.

Aside from Solomon, her fellow Lady Bulldog and two-time UAAP Best Setter Lams Lamina, University of the Philippines star Niña Ytang, and University of Santo Tomas captain and two-time Best Libero Detdet Pepito, are also among the top prospects in the class.

Galeries Tower selected Jean Asis last year as its second overall pick and tapped setter Julia Coronel two years ago as the third pick. The HighRisers surrounded them with veterans like Aiza Maizo-Pontillas and got an unheralded rookie Erika Deloria from the defunct Chery Tiggo under new coach Aying Esteban.

The new-look HighRisers reached the second stage of the Play-In in the All-Filipino Conference.
