MANILA, Philippines — PLDT fended off Akari, 25-14, 26-24, 21-25, 25-20, to end its PVL On Tour campaign on a high note on Saturday at Mindanao Civic Center Gymnasium in Tubod, Lanao del Norte.
Savi Davison erupted for 22 points built on 19 kills, two blocks, and an ace on top of 13 excellent receptions and nine digs.
Kianna Dy also stepped up with nine points. Majoy Baron, Mika Reyes, Alleiah Malaluan, and Jovy Prado added six points each, as Kim Fajardo had 16 excellent sets.

Iligan-native Kath Arado had 19 excellent digs in front of her family and friends.
The High Speed Hitters had to overcome a late comeback scare by the Chargers after they forced a fourth set. PLDT mounted a comfortable 20-16 lead, but Faith Nisperos cut it down to two.
Dy stopped the bleeding before Malaluan and Joyme Cagande exchanged service errors. Risa Sato scored off a floating ball, but only to commit a net fault after her point was successfully challenged by PLDT for a 23-19 lead.

Davison sent the High Speed Hitters to match point, 24-20, followed by Cagande’s mis-set, as PLDT won both of its two preseason games.
Akari finished the preseason, winning only one of three games.
Nisperos led the Chargers with 12 points and six digs. Chenie Tagaod had eight points, while Grethcel Soltones and Ivy Lacsina added seven each.
