One of the most phenomenal boy bands in the ‘90s, 98 Degrees is set to return to local shores after 20 years. Their shows will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on May 30 and 31. The American group is made up of Jeff Timmons, Nick Lachey, Justin Jeffre and Drew Lachey.

Although the members were more into vocal harmonies than dance moves, 98 Degrees is considered one of the most successful entries into the boy band phenomenon of the late ‘90s era.

That was a great time for the likes of the Backstreet Boys, N’Sync, Take That and others. And 98 Degrees with its distinctive sound happily rode the wave with its soulful ballads.

To the credit of members Nick Lachey and his brother Drew, plus Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons, 98 Degrees created songs that have withstood the proverbial test of time.

One would be hard put to name weddings where their I Do (Cherish You) was not played or performed. What about the passionate pleadings in Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche) or the romantic declaration in Because of You. The difficult love triangle of The Hardest Thing may not be as commonplace but there are many who do relate to the song.

Sounds have changed. We are now in the digital age but there is still no way lovers can go wrong playing a 98 Degrees song as their soundtrack. 98 Degrees thought so, too.

Now, they have taken a break from the band to explore other endeavors these past years. Jeff is singing solo and producing shows for television while Justin also performed solo and went into politics. Drew went to Broadway, television and danced his way to winning the grand prize in “Dancing with the Stars.” And Nick also sang solo and was on reality TV as host of “Perfect Match” and “Love is Blind.”

Still, it cannot be denied that after nearly 30 years, the greatest thrill they get is when they sing together. And that was how “Full Circle” was born.

It cannot be denied that after nearly 30 years, the greatest thrill 98 Degrees gets is when the boy band sings together. And that was how ‘Full Circle,’ the title of the latest album of 98 Degrees, was born. It comes after nearly 10 years since the Christmas album ‘Let It Snow’ from 2017.

“Full Circle” is the title of the latest album by 98 Degrees. It comes after nearly 10 years since the Christmas album “Let It Snow” from 2017. In a way, those two words sum up what has happened to them since their first hit single Invisible Man. They have been through a lot, many ups, also downs. But they are now back together doing what they love best, singing as 98 Degrees.

To emphasize this, they have decided to make “Full Circle” a combination of 98 Degrees history and what they see as their future. Included in the album are re-recordings of some of their biggest hits, which come across as fresher than before. The Hardest Thing, I Do (Cherish You), Invisible Man, Because of You and Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche). And then, for proof that they can hold their own against the artists of today, there are the new sounds of Got U, Stranger Things, Tremble, Same Mistake and the lovely Mona Lisa.

Tracks and videos from “Full Circle” are now available online including one very special rerecording of I Do (Cherish You). This version is where our very own vocal powerhouse Katrina Velarde soars to new heights with 98 Degrees. And even better, she does her part with Tagalog lyrics.

This duet is expected to be one of the highlights of 98 Degrees in Manila, which marks the group’s return to local shores after 20 years. The shows will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena at the Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City on May 30 and 31.

Watch 98 Degrees in concert to remember your past loves, to refresh your love of these past many years or to meet your younger self through the music and enjoy all those memories. 98 Degrees promises to sing all their hits and they profess that they love it when the audience sings along.
