CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga , Philippines — A  rider died when his motorcycle collided with a trailer truck in Meycauayan, Bulacan on Thursday night.

The fatality, identified only as Edward, died at the scene of the accident that occurred at around 10:45 p.m. along McArthur Highway in Barangay Saluysoy, according to Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, Central Luzon police director.

Responding police officers arrested the truck drier, who will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property.

Meanwhile, in Aurora, five people were injured when a bus fell into a ravine in Maria Aurora town on Wednesday.

Bus driver Danilo Rubio, fare collector Jonathan Mamis and passengers Nelson Agbayani, Roslyn Este and Lorraine Javier were given medical attention by members of the municipal disaster risk reduction and management office.

They refused to be taken to a hospital for further treatment.

Probers said the bus, which was carrying 41 passengers, was traveling up the Pantabangan-Baler Road in Barangay Dianawan when it stalled, rolled backward and fell into a 20-foot-deep ravine.
