MANILA, Philippines — Riot Games Philippines has officially announced the return of Wild Rounds: Pilipinas, the flagship grassroots tournament for League of Legends: Wild Rift.

Now on its second season, the tournament stakes a P1.5-million prize pool and a revamped competitive roadmap, running from the second quarter through the end of 2025.

After a successful debut in 2024, Wild Rounds: Pilipinas Open aims to build on last year’s momentum by giving more aspiring Filipino players the chance to showcase their skills on a national stage.

“Wild Rounds: Pilipinas Open 2025 is our way of keeping our ever-supportive core communities alive, while bringing Wild Rift even closer to more Filipino players,” said Joel Guzman, country manager of Riot Games Philippines.

The upgraded tournament structure includes three open splits across the year, culminating in a live finals showdown. Riot PH is also introducing more grassroots initiatives and community-focused events leading up to the tournament proper.

Ahead of the official competition, Riot Games PH is rolling out several new programs as part of the Wild Rounds Circuit. One such program is "Wild Rift Wednesdays", a weekly online event that began last month that features popular creators and streamers, giving fans a chance to join casual games and interact with the broader Wild Rift community.

Starting this May, the circuit expands with the grassroots tournaments aiming to spotlight emerging talent from regional areas across the country with registration for the first split already open with the tournament slated for June and the grand finals set for the first week of July.

“Our goal is to build a space where players — whether casual or competitive — feel encouraged to step up and compete,” added Guzman.

Besides the return of Wild Rounds, Riot Games Philippines also teased what to expect for the game's fifth anniversary in the country with several community surprises, including exclusive in-game events, rewards and limited-time content in the pipeline.

“This year’s tournament, along with our other exciting lineup of activities for Wild Rift, are a manifestation of our consistent dedication to the community. In true Filipino spirit, we’re inviting everyone again to 'magpakitang gilas' at the Rift.” said Kimi Salazar, MOBA brand manager at Riot Games PH.
