MANILA, Philippines (First published Dec. 18, 7:44 p.m.) — Several roads in Makati will be closed on Friday, December 19, due to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Parade of Stars, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.
According to the MMDA, the parade will begin at 1 p.m. and will cover a total distance of 8.4 kilometers, passing through major Makati thoroughfares before ending at Circuit Makati.
The route will start at Macapagal Boulevard, then proceed through:
- Senator Gil Puyat Avenue
- Ayala Avenue
- Makati Avenue
- J.P. Rizal Street
- A.P. Reyes Avenue
The parade will conclude at Circuit Makati.
Traffic management measures
The MMDA advised motorists to avoid the parade route to prevent being caught in heavy traffic.
The agency said it will implement temporary lane closures along affected roads and enforce a stop-and-go scheme to manage vehicle flow and ensure pedestrian safety.
“Mainam na gumamit ng ibang alternatibong ruta,” the MMDA said.
Using alternative routes is highly encouraged.
