The film adaptation of the popular old school anime "Rose of Versailles" is now on Netflix!

As seen on the platform's "New this Week" tab, the animated film is now available for streaming and has a running time of 1 hour and 54 minutes.

"Raised as a boy, trained as a soldier, honorable Oscar Francois de Jarjayes finds her loyalties tested as bodyguard to the future queen Marie Antoinette," the Netflix description read.

The film is produced by MAPPA, the animation studio behind "Jujutsu Kaisen" and "Attack on Titan" Season 4.

Miyuki Sawashiro voiced Oscar while Aya Hirano voiced Marie Antoinette. Toshiyuki Toyonaga and Kazuki Kato voiced André Grandier and Hans Axel von Fersen, respectively.

Hiroyuki Sawano did the musical score.

"Rose of Versailles" is a manga created by Riyoko Ikeda and originally published in 1972. It was first adapted into an anime series in 1979.

It is set in France before and during the French Revolution, following a mix of historical and fictional characters. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
