MANILA, Philippines — Wilcon Depot Inc.’s longtime executive, Rosemarie Bosch-Ong, is retiring after decades of serving the listed home improvement and finishing construction supply retailer.

In a stock exchange filing, Wilcon announced the retirement of Ong as senior executive vice president and chief operating officer of the company, effective June 15.

Ong, a retail industry veteran, has held the position of senior executive vice president and chief operating officer of the company since 2007.

A University of the East graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Ong started out in the business as a purchasing manager under Wilcon Builders Supply Inc. from 1983 to 1988.

She is also the president of the Wilcon Builders Foundation Inc., which she has headed since 2008.

Ong previously served as president of the Philippine Retailers Association, a former director of the Philippine Contractors Association, and one of the founding directors of the Proptech Consortium of the Philippines.

She is currently the president of the Women’s Business Council Philippines.
