MANILA, Philippines — Actress Ruffa Gutierrez gave a positive update regarding her father, veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez, who recently underwent a spinal procedure in Singapore.

In an Instagram post, Ruffa said she accompanied Eddie to Singapore and ended up getting check-ups herself along with mother Annabelle Rama as new patients of neurosurgeon Dr. Prem Pillay.

Photos show Ruffa getting an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) like Eddie while Annabelle was advised to excercise and cut down on lechon.

"To everyone who has sent comforting messages and included Dad in your prayers, a heartfelt thank you!" Ruffa said. "Dad is already showing signs of improvement after yesterday’s spine procedure, and the antibiotics are helping. Thank You, Lord!"

The Gutierrezes is currently waiting for tests from Eddie's urologist Dr. Sam Peh as they hope the family will be complete for Christmas in Manila.

Ruffa even shared smiling assurance from Dr. Pillay his team would ensure Eddie would live to at least a 100 years old.

"A gentle reminder for everyone: Health is wealth. Let's take good care of ourselves and most importantly, let's spend time with our parents because it's our turn to take care of them," Ruffa ended.

Among those who left messages of encouragement were Vhong Navarro, Sunshine Cruz and Ruffa's younger brother Raymond.

It can be recalled that Eddie underwent a procedure in 2021 that cleared him of prostate cancer. Two years later, the actor underwent cataract surgery.
