Samantha Bernardo, the iconic Miss Grand International 2020 first runner-up, thanked CJ Opiaza for finally getting the Philippines a Miss Grand International crown.
On Instagram, Samantha shared a portrait of herself with CJ, followed by clips during the latter's coronation moment in Thailand.
"You Can't Stop a FILIPINA!" she said.
"[CJ], thank you for fulfilling the Philippines' multo," she added. "Watching you made me cry."
Samantha acknowledged CJ's hard work, grace, and for continuously keeping the Philippines with her in her fight for the crown.
"You're right… this is a historic win for our country. And I'm just so, so proud of you," she said.
CJ was officially crowned as Miss Grand International 2024 on Tuesday.
She made "herstory" as the first Filipina beauty queen to receive the golden crown.
She took over the title after India's Rachel Gupta resigned and relinquished her crown.
CJ will have a grand homecoming event in the Philippines on June 8.
