Just a few weeks ago, Samsung released its latest Galaxy S25 line of flagship devices. The trio was launched with the brand dead-set on reclaiming “top dog” status within the Android smartphone space. While the lineup was met with rave reviews, there have admittedly been some niggles – such as a camera issue which has been affecting most S25 early adopters. We’ll get into this now.
The camera glitch came to light on Reddit, when a user complained that shots taking his new Samsung Galaxy S25 in certain settings. It seemed that strong lighting or high-contrast situations seemed to trigger this flaw.
Here is a gallery of images for you to make your own observations.
From left to right, the discolored band near the center of the image becomes increasingly apparent. There is a noticeable shift in color within the impacted area.
Fortunately, the issue does not carry over when Expert RAW or GCam (another camera application) is used to capture the photo. This means that it is almost certainly a software post-processing issue, which Samsung has also confirmed in a statement.
It says: “We are aware of a limited number of cases where images appear blurred when taking photos in Night Mode on Galaxy S25 Ultra and have issued a fix to resolve in the next software update rolling out starting this week.”
As one can read, it specifically points out “Night Mode” as a culprit affecting the algorithms and the Galaxy S25 Ultra as the affected device. While the statement did single out these two factors, Samsung has heeded its user base and promised a swift resolution through a patch.
This patch is the Galaxy S25’s first update since release, with performance improvements and bug fixes nestled within 500+ MB of data.
We’re looking forward to seeing how these changes improve the overall user experience on the Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup. Will the flagship maintain its “king-of-the-hill” status?
