The Samsung Galaxy S25 Series has ended its support for its Samsung Messages.

The company, Samsung, has completely disabled Samsung messages on the recent models. However, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 were the first ones to have the said messaging app unavailable on their system. But, it has the option to have it installed and enabled through the Galaxy Store / Play Store.

Samsung Messages users on older Galaxy units have raised its concern on this issue, but as per PhoneArena, users will still retain the app and can continuously utilize the app.

There’s no official statement or promise regarding the significant system and security updates for the older Galaxy units.

Samsung’s spokesperson shared its statement to the Android Authority on January 23 regarding the decision to fully utilize Google Messages as the brand’s default messaging app: “With the close collaboration between Google and Samsung, we have opted to migrate all services to Google Messages and are sunsetting Samsung Messages. It’s no longer available in the Play Store; however, those who chose to utilize Samsung Messages are still able to do so.”

And adds, “We believe that the added functionality of RCS messaging on Google Messages creates an enhanced user experience for both Android-to-Android messaging and across platforms.”
