If there’s one thing Android users love, it’s the capability to craft one’s experiences based on preferences. This was the largest draw to Android even back in the day. This has been aided by the rapid improvement of mainstream interfaces, such as Pixel UI and One UI, over the recent years.

Now Samsung wants to live up to its “Your Galaxy, Your Way” mantra by introducing a barrage of new features. They’ve done this by thoroughly refreshing the Home Up module within its Good Lock suite. This aims to deliver a level of customization that can be simple if desired, but also complex for those who like to tinker with their tech.

Even if One UI 7 is in Beta, testers are raving about the DIY Home feature. It allows users to manipulate their home screen to an extent never seen before.

This includes manipulating app icons – freely scaling them up or down, tilting them up to what you want, even making a little artwork on your home screen. The possibilities seem to be endless.

On top of that, we are likely to receive even technical improvements to the UI experience. Users will be given much more control over animations, rather than have to make a black-or-white decision to prioritize aesthetic or speed.

Samsung calls this Emotion and even provides presets to choose from.

Other improvements include further utilization of the Edge Panel through function addition, as well as other UI tools to really make your Galaxy, yours.

One UI 7 Availability

As of now One UI 7 is only available to the Galaxy S25 lineup, or to the S24s via Beta downloads from the Galaxy store. All other devices still on One UI 6 will have to wait for this revolutionary feature to become ready to download.

It is likely that Samsung performing stringent testing to see what kind of effects such a major update could have on overall user experience, as well as the impacts it could hold on the devices.

We’ll just have to wait and see for an update on their official site.
