MANILA, Philippines — Save the Children Philippines launched a campaign designed to spark urgent conversations around children’s rights and protection.
Using two relatable social-media formats, a makeup-themed tutorial and a live-selling–style video, the campaign starts normally before revealing harsh realities facing Filipino children today. The videos end with alarming statistics on violence against children and the rising number of adolescent pregnancies, issues that continue to affect Filipino children nationwide and can no longer be ignored.
“Seven A.D. approached this campaign with a sharp honesty that helped us show where children are and the painful situations many of them endure. These realities are difficult to face, but they should push all of us to act. I hope people who watch these videos take time to learn, speak up, and support efforts that keep every child protected,” Save the Children Philippines CEO Atty. Alberto Muyot said.
From advocacy to action, Save the Children Philippines works with government agencies, schools and communities to protect children from physical, emotional and gender-based violence, including online sexual abuse and exploitation. The organization also conducts learning sessions on children’s rights, reproductive health and gender equality, giving young people vital, age-appropriate information and safe spaces to speak up and make informed decisions.
Seven A.D. CEO and CCO Teeny Gonzales added: “We wanted to use everyday formats people would regularly see online but reveal painful truths behind some them that we don’t see. Working with Save the Children Philippines allowed us to use creativity in the best way possible—helping those who can’t help themselves.”
